Part of learning to be a Christ-follower is doing acts of service. Seminole First Baptist Church is very involved in community outreach projects, partnering with mission endeavors in our area to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Due to Covid-19 Precautions the following ministries are not meeting
Here are a few examples of areas of service in which we are currently engaged:
Free English Classes for Adults
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:30-9PM
This ministry is dedicated to helping those new to our country learn the English language. Our dynamic and caring teachers are trained to provide effective and meaningful English language experiences to all people, regardless of faith, race, creed or belief.
For the last 15+ years, we have helped English Language learners from Asia, Europe, Central and South America enhance their interpersonal skills & assimilate into American society through the learning of conversational, colloquial & formal written English. Many students have become our friends and American citizens.
The classes are fun, the teachers are wonderful and it’s all FREE! Come learn English with us from September to May!!
Recovery Fellowship is a biblical and balanced program that help us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount, rather than psychological theory. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, hang-ups, and habits by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Recovery Fellowship has helped people now at 20,000 churches worldwide. Recovery Fellowship is a biblical alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and many other 12 step recovery programs.
The leaders of Recovery Fellowship are members of Seminole First Baptist Church. Our program has small groups, gender-specific to help those struggling with lying, food, drugs, toxic relationships, shopping, gossiping, alcohol, sexual abuse, etc.
We meet every Wednesday night at 6:30pm.
Jesus for Juveniles
Our carefully planned and implemented programs fuel the vision of “lighting the way to hope, healing and restoration” for incarcerated youth.
Our mission is “Reflecting the light of Christ Jesus to every juvenile offender”. Through Bible studies, mentoring, and worship services on-site, we have an ongoing ministry at Gulf and Lake Academy.
